Jessica Jones Farewell

The League is sad to say good-bye to one of its members, Jessica Jones, who is moving from Winchester.  Jessica joined the League’s Steering Committee in 2006 and her enthusiasm and fresh ideas will certainly be missed.  Her bubbly personality is infectious and her positive energy helped make all our activities a success.

For those who don’t know Jessica personally, you probably have seen her many contributions.  Jessica was often behind a camera strategically and carefully capturing pictures that helped illustrate our events.  Her pictures have graced the pages of the League’s website and newsletters.  Some of her pictures even made it into our local newspapers.

Besides her pictures, Jessica was our contact with WinCam and when not behind a camera was there helping out on behalf of the League.  You could not miss Jessica.  Her smiling face with her lovely British/Australian/New Zealand accent coaxed you into the right pose and calmed any nerves you might have about your performance on live local TV.

Jessica is a perfect example of a transplanted citizen who takes democracy seriously.  It was this commitment that led her to join the Winchester League of Women Voters.  We hope she continues this commitment to help her new community in protecting the values of democracy.  We know she will.

Best wishes Jessica and please know that you are always welcome at our events with or without your camera.
