Each year the Winchester League of Women Voters selects a book that will enliven a thought provoking discussion of politics and democracy.  The Assassin’s Accomplice should provide a different twist to our discussion.  Does this book only convince us that Mary Surratt was guilty of the worst crime imaginable and deserved to die?  Or are there parallels to today and the crimes that are committed in the name of politics? Can it tell us anything about our political enemies both inside and outside our country who are trying to destabilize democracy?
