Susan Verdicchio

SusanV

Susan Verdicchio, a lawyer, is a new member of the Steering Committee and will be working on Voter Registration.  After practicing law in Boston, Susan moved to Winchester almost 20 years ago and has been active in the community while raising her family.

Susan is a member of Stand for Children and has just finished two years as co-president of the McCall Parents' Association. While her children were at Muraco School, she volunteered in the school library, serving as coordinator of the parent library volunteers and also coordinating the parent volunteer effort to automate the school library by converting the card catalog to an online database.

As a League member, Susan  carries on a family tradition - her mother was an active member of LWV for many years.

Susan is married to Shizuo Mukai and has three children, Katie, 19, entering her sophomore year in college; Renata, 16, who will be a junior at Winchester High School, and Tomaso, 13, who will be in the eighth grade at McCall.

Laura Steenburgh

Laura S

Laura Steenburgh is a new member of the Steering Committee.  She has an engineering degree and an MBA and  worked in both fields for a number of years.

Laura has lived in Winchester for 7 years.  She has been active as a volunteer at Lincoln Elementary School and a board member for the Family Action Network.  Over the past several years, Laura has gone from being relatively apolitical to serving as an active volunteer in campaigning for candidates in various local and national political races.

She joined the LWV because she is passionate about encouraging others to (1) understand political issues locally and nationally (2) get out and vote and (3) maybe even get involved in supporting ones candidate of choice.

Laura and her husband Tom have two children, ages 4 and 7.
