TOWN EMPLOYEES APPRECIATED AT MOVEABLE FEAST
On December 2, the Winchester League of Women Voters hosted its eleventh annual “Moveable Feast” for all town employees from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Department of Public Works Building.
The purpose was to honor the men and women who serve our community each day. This tradition was initiated in December 2001 after the wounds of September 11 magnified the importance of civic workers. Movable Feast has now become an annual tradition for Winchester town employees.
The first year’s site was the Town Hall, and this year’s the Department of Public Works. The menu this year, arranged with our local D’Agostino’s, included pasta primavera, traditional lasagna, salad, rolls, and a holiday sheet cake provided by Stop ‘n Shop.
The League members who serve and attend the “Moveable Feast” learn about the working environment in town directly from town employees as they eat together and can directly express their appreciation to town employees.
