Parents Eye View

In today’s tough economy, with the state and federal budget cuts affecting programs throughout the Commonwealth, Winchester parents are looking to creative ways to raise funds to supplement the necessary programs and crucial education supplies within the public school system.

Gone are the days of selling candy bars.  This year, in addition to tearing off box tops from our cereal boxes for the Box Tops for Education drive; the Winchester Parents Inter-School Council (PTO) sponsored a Fundraising Day at Wilson Farms in Lexington on March 4th.  Wilson Farms donated 20 percent of the total purchases of Winchester residents directly to the Winchester Public Schools!

Through the generous shopping purchases of Winchester families, school faculty, administrators, staff, etc., over $2000.00 was raised!   Hats off to the council for a great fundraising endeavor to  help our children, and to Wilson Farms for their generous contribution.
