Event Help...

Lots of possibilities!
The LWVW is always looking for people to join and volunteer. We know that you have a lot going on in your life and may not be able to donate very much time. That’s okay! We would love it if you have a free hour just once a year or if you would like to be more actively involved. We gladly accept any help that fits in to your schedule.

Still have a few questions? Visit our FAQ page to see if we can help you there.

VOTER SERVICES (Voter Registration, Rides to the Polls)
One of the main goals of the LWVW is Voter Services. Not only do we want people informed and ready to vote but we want them to be able to vote in the first place. That means voter registration events and rides to the polls. If you are interested in helping out at a voter registration event or providing a ride to the polls on voting day, please contact Marilyn Muhane.

Communications Committee Volunteer Opportunities
The Communications Committee is responsible for communicating with the public and our members about current events. We publish articles in the Winchester Star, Daily Times Chronicle, and a few other news outlets. We have Facebook and Twitter accounts as well. We are always in need of assistance. If you have an idea for an article you would like to write, posts to create for Facebook. Do you like to Tweet? You could Tweet for us at our events! Do you have an idea not listed here? Let us know! We would love to hear from you.

WRITING ARTICLES
Do you like to write? Are you interested in working on writing an article? Do you have an idea for an article? The LWVW is trying to spread its message to a wider audience in Winchester. To do that we try to publish as many articles as we can with local news outlets. If you have any interest in writing an article or being a part of this process, please get in touch with Jo-Ann Michalak.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Do you like using Facebook, or Twitter? Are you interested in helping spread the LWVW’s message online? The LWVW is also trying to reach a wider web audience by utilizing social media outlets. This, of course, takes time and if you have some to dedicate to the League we would be glad to have it.

We would be looking for help to find or create content to post to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. We are also looking for other ways that you may know of to reach more people and grow our membership.
If you are interested in helping out with LWVW Social Media or have any questions about how you can participate, please contact info@lwvwinchester.org.

AUDIO/VISUAL
Do you know how to video tape or work with audio systems? Would you like to learn?
The LWVW likes to video tape some of our events with the help of WinCAM. They have offered to train LWVW members on using the video cameras and set up for the sound recording. We typically have two to three events per year which require A/V assistance.

If you are interested in getting trained on the equipment OR you already know how to do it and want to help out - let us know. Email info@lwvwinchester.org for more information.
