Free Fun for the Whole Family
We Did It For You
In celebration of the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote, the League of Women Voters of Winchester in partnership with the Winchester Historical Society will offer free and open to the public a presentation of We Did It For You, a musical that depicts a brief history of women in America. A high school student has an assignment to research women’s history. She learns this history from the women themselves who come to life on stage. With music and humor that is appropriate for all ages, the characters tell their own stories, from Sojourner Truth and Susan B. Anthony to Alice Paul and Rosa Parks. The show empowers and educates as well as entertains. Students, parents, and all members of the public will enjoy this one-hour presentation.
Sunday, March 8, 2:30-3:30 PM, McCall Middle School, 458 Main Street, Winchester
Sponsors: League of Women Voters of Winchester, Winchester Historical Society, Winchester Cultural Council, Lotte E. Scharfman Citizen Education Grant (LWVMA), Network for Social Justice
